Not what I was hoping for I was optimistic that this book would inspire and reassure my son. We have been reading it together and I find it to be boring, and loaded with excess information that seems secondary and not the sort of reassuring, inviting and inspiring book I’d hoped for to bring him comfort and understanding without exacerbating his differences. Great Resource! I vowed this year to begin a read aloud in my pull-out GT classroom. Too many years have gone by where I just fail at doing so because I only meet with my 3rd and 4th graders once a week. Looking up recommended chapter books for gifted students, I stumbled across this. No, it’s not what I wanted, but am I glad it’s what I tried.Used more as a shared reading experience, I’m telling you, my GTs absolutely love this book! They cheer when it’s time for me to read it. Teaches that itâs okay to be different. Excellent reading material for my 10 year old grandson.
